Administration Denounces 'Democratic Hoax' as Additional Jeffrey Epstein Images Released
House Democrats have made public a additional set of what they labeled "disturbing" photographs from the property of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, featuring among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The first release of 19 photographs—a portion of which have been previously circulated—plus another 70 issued later on Friday account for a tiny fraction of the approximately 100,000 images released to the House oversight committee, which is probing the conduct and connections of Epstein.
The shamed investor died by an apparent self-inflicted death in a New York detention cell in 2019 after being charged with sex-trafficking crimes.
Prominent Personalities in the Images
Among the notable figures seen in the opening set are public figures including film director Woody Allen; Microsoft founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, originator of the Virgin business group.
Donald Trump is pictured in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is seen with six women, whose faces are obscured.
White House Reaction
The White House addressed the release in a statement, accusing Democrats of selectively "choosing" the photographs for political purposes and to "attempt to fabricate a false storyline."
"This Democratic fabrication against President Trump has been consistently disproven," a White House spokesperson said, asserting that "the Trump administration has accomplished more for Epstein's survivors than Democrats have at any point by frequently urging disclosure, making public thousands of pages of documents, and demanding further investigations into Epstein's Democrat friends."
Democratic Lawmaker Statement
The images were published lacking captions, but as stated by a Democratic representative from California and ranking member of the oversight committee, they elicit additional doubts about Epstein's connections to the rich and powerful.
"Now is the occasion to halt this White House obfuscation and bring justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful friends," he said in a comment.
The release of these documents occurs alongside the oversight committee pressing on with its probe into the affair.
