Former Physician Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a former physician now faces charges for performing sexual assaults against 38 individuals who were patients.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
One senior prosecutor said, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

The charging documents said the 45 charges comprise:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
