Performer Refutes Anti-Vax Stance After Lending His Voice To Controversial Covid Documentary
The acclaimed actor has provided his vocal talents to a recent film that challenges the legitimacy of immunizations and praises former cabinet secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr.
The Feature's Provocative Origins
Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is adapted from a bestselling book written by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the health crisis for assertions that the illness was caused by a bad strain of the seasonal immunization.
The book's co-author, a producer, has penned books with far-right radio host Alex Jones. The producer wrote online celebrating Neeson's involvement in the documentary.
A Strong Statement
The team of Neeson have provided a statement pushing back against implications that he subscribes to anti-vax views.
"Everyone can understand that misconduct may occur within the pharmaceutical industry, but that must not be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the comment states. "He has never been, and remains not, anti-vax. His long work with the global charity reinforces his enduring support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."
It noted that the star had no hand in the film's editorial content and that questions about its content are best addressed to the filmmakers.
Central Claims Featured in the Documentary
According to the documentary, the voiceover read by Neeson includes several provocative statements:
- It states that pro-immunization voices have demanded "complete compliance" to public institutions.
- It posits that "research has become dangerously politicized."
- Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured claiming, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they just aren't properly vetted."
- The narration further attacks Covid lockdowns, claiming they caused severe distress that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
- On the topic of the immunizations, it cites a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Previous Controversy and Current Issues
The documentary includes a past television report about HIV drug testing on children, which was afterwards the focus of a correction by the corporation for editorial breaches.
Last month, Kennedy instructed the Centers for Disease Control to revise its official position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is also referenced in the documentary, even with a fresh analysis from the WHO stating no such link has been found.
A Past Record of Support
Contrasting the film's narrative, Neeson has in the past shown firm endorsement for vaccines in his position as a Unicef global ambassador.
Two years ago, he described vaccines as "an incredible achievement," noting that "The debate about vaccines in the past few years has forgotten how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in history."
The film finishes with Neeson's script proclaiming, "This is not the end of our narrative. It is the start of a new chapter."
