The New Animated Series' Introductory Sequence Chose the Incorrect Popular RPG Show Track

This latest animated series, the most recent animated adventure by the beloved role-playing group, unveiled a new opening credits. It showcases our favorite group of outcasts, misfits, and criminals kicking ass and making their mark, while also hinting at several agonizing backstories for characters such as the voice actor's wizard Caleb, and Travis Willingham's orc warlock, the character Fjord.

All in all, the intro appears amazing. However, I felt that an element was missing in the music selection.

The intro uses "Welcome to the Continent", a truly stellar composition composed by producer and singer Colm McGuinness. It's a track from the soundtrack album of that title, the second one released by Critical Role Productions LLC's record label Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a wonderful sentimental option, and I believe that fans of the sequel series will love its presence.

Personally, The series' intro fails to capture the excitement and energy that accompanied the show's live-play sessions. "It's Your Turn", composed by musician the artist, became an immediate hit for me when it was first revealed in that year, and it only got better when co-founder Sam Riegel wrote words to the melody for the series' animated intro in the later year.

Featuring vocals from Ashley Johnson, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, as well as the writer, the track was memorable and fun. Back then, I hadn't even watched the follow-up series yet, but it was so infectious that I kept it on my device. This track that knows how to get you pumped before you dive into an episode of adventurous fun.

The show's intro with "Welcome to Wildemount" fails to hit the same chords for me. It's a grand piece of music, but from what I know of the group, I feel that its tone is somewhat mismatched.

Of course, Critical Role has already said that the animated show will have a few changes and differences from the actual-play campaign. A tonal change for its intro appears as among these.

The Mighty Nein will be released on the streaming service from Nov. 19. If you can't wait until then, or want a head start to get to know the characters of the second series, the actual play are available on the audio platform and the video site.
